NGO Activities : Sandli Pairan Kala Kender means - Holy steps towards creativity, which is our mission and commitment for creativity. For some people theatre may be just a performance, but for us, SPKK members, it’s a way of life. It’s our mission to increase the respect and enthusiasm for Indian Theatre. The main language of agricultural land Punjab is Punjabi and its culture is the soul and backbone of SPKK. Our performances aren’t just restricted with Punjabi plays but we have also experienced various plays in other languages as well. India has a very rich culture and it has diversity is in its languages. SPKK respect all of them and participate in their activities with full enthusiasm. We celebrate festivities of Lohri, Eid, Diwali, Christmas etc. and share our love for diversity. We often visit many Blind Schools, Old Age Homes and Orphanages on regular basis as we found them as a part of our life, and of SPKK. SPKK was officially registered in 1997, under the Societies Registration Act (XXI of 1860) from Chandigarh and Punjab. SPKK is committed to produce and develop quality theatre work by practicing Drama Performances, Stage & Music Workshops and Street Plays. SPKK has huge experience in working on theatre which brings social change, Experimental Theatre, Short Films; Theme based Documentary Films, Theatre Workshops for children & Adults, and also Light and Sound Shows. In past one decade, we have completed bunch of good productions on our own and in collaboration with various groups such as Sangeet Natak Academy-Delhi, Department of Cultural Affairs (Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh), North Zone Cultural Centre-Patiala, Department of Public Relations and many other cultural organizations from a mixture of cities and states of India. We have enjoyed working on realistic form of theatre, musical, experimental and contemporary theatre, and we are continued to work towards our goals of creativity. SPKK is a very liberal group and has open door policy for the aspiring artists. SPKK encourages artists who didn’t get a chance to be in forefront due to lack of resources and opportunities. It is known to maintain an extremely professional standard with its artists and audiences. SPKK is also known as provider of variety and innovative ideas with its performances. SPKK has played a great role like two sides of a coin by preserving its traditions & culture, and also have the variation of modern theatre style in its performances. It covers many social issues in public interest to bring awareness while entertaining its audience. We are happy that we were able to successfully connect our audience to its history and religion through Light and Sound Shows while using realistic visuals. We also have used most traditional style such as street plays in some of our works to provide the best to its viewers.
